Katy Anderson

Programming & Operations Director

Katy manages programming operations and helps direct and produce on-air talent for 89.1 WBOI and 94.1 WBNI.   She has lived in Fort Wayne for most of her life and is a graduate of IPFW where she studied political science and journalism.  Though her interests and background in non-profits and public policy were what initially brought her to NIPR, she quickly found herself drawn to public radio programming and audience research.  Anderson is a strong believer in centering programming on listeners, and oversaw the station’s major programming changes over the past six years years. She's also helped produce award-winning, community-oriented news programming on WBOI.

The transmitter for 94.1 WBNI is currently undergoing maintenance and is operating at reduced power.  We hope to be operating at full power at some point today.  Sorry for the inconvenience!  If you're not getting a clear signal, remember you can listen online.

Rob Martinez

Six years ago, Rob Martinez was interviewed by WBOI’s then-program director Andrew Anderson for a segment on his hobby collecting Christmas music.  The interview was the springboard for all of his shows that have followed to now.

“My specials didn’t even have a title back in 2011,” says Martinez.  “I didn’t even have a Facebook page for the show until 2013!”

Each December since, Martinez has created an average of five hours of original Christmas programming.

This month Classical 94.1 WBNI will feature a variety of holiday programming! Below is a list of some of the programs WBNI will air to help you get into the holiday spirit.
