Yesterday we shut off power at the station to repair a bad breaker in the transmitter which we suspected to be causing static. Ultimately we found that the equipment needs to undergo more significant repairs.
Our contracted engineer is ordering new parts to fix the problem. In the meantime, 89.1 WBOI is operating at reduced power to prevent further damage.
We sincerely apologize for the interruptions. We will keep you updated as we get more information from engineering. In the meantime, you can listen online at wboi.org or on the WBOI mobile app.
