Director, Thom Hofrichter, enjoys the challenge of telling this story completely through voice and sound.

Beginning this weekend, First Presbyterian Theater is adding a new twist to a beloved holiday classic, with its production of  "It's a Wonderful Life, a Live Radio Play."

Lead actor, Kevin Torwelle, believes that the message of this story can never be shared enough.

Recreated as a 1940's radio drama in progress, the audience is transported to the air studio of a small town station that has been allowed to broadcast the story, just before Frank Capra's movie premiere.

The mood is complete, with live sound effects, commercial jingles, Christmas carols, and a core group of actors playing "a cast of hundreds."

For a sneak preview of the adventure, WBOI's Julia Meek met with director, Thom Hofrichter and lead actor, Kevin Torwelle to learn what this creative mixing of mediums holds in store.
