PFW Purchases $3.85 Million "South Campus" Complex

Purdue University’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved Purdue Fort Wayne’s purchase of the Park 3000 property during its Friday meeting in West Lafayette.

The property covers 13 acres of land at 3000 East Coliseum Boulevard. The Park 3000 building was formerly Brown-Mackie College, serving both administrative and academic purposes. According to PFW, the building has been maintained to require little renovation in the future.

But that won’t stop PFW from investing in some changes. Early plans for the building include making it the new home of the Richard T. Doermer and relocating several student centers which, in turn, would create more space throughout campus.

This location will now be referred to as “South Campus.”

The $3.85 million purchase will be paid “through a combination of philanthropy and external sources,” and is just one prong of possible Purdue Fort Wayne expansion: PFW will be seeking purchase of a property adjacent to this in the future.
