Rural Sourcing To Establish Development Center In Fort Wayne

Zach Bernard/WBOI News

Mayor Tom Henry was joined by Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch at Parkview Field Friday afternoon to announce a new development center for Atlanta-based tech company Rural Sourcing.

Rural Sourcing has five development centers across the southern United States, and a Fort Wayne location would mark its first foray in the Midwest. The company outsources IT services, and is already accepting applications for positions in app/web development, cyber security analysis and more.

Henry says Fort Wayne’s continued growth of downtown is attracting new employers.

“We have people in our community that are committed and dedicated to making Fort Wayne a little bit better place to live, and I think it’s that which sells Fort Wayne to potential employers as a point of destination,” Henry said.

He and other speakers highlighted the importance of collaboration between entities in bringing the company to Fort Wayne. Crouch says the city did a quality job of selling itself on its merits.

“I think the quality of life that is here in Fort Wayne, and in addition to that the work ethic, the diversification, the university, the tech sector, all helped sell Fort Wayne,” said Crouch.

Rural Sourcing plans to hire 130 employees in Fort Wayne and invest more than $3 million into its operation by 2021.
