Saturday is International Left Handers Day, and this year, Fort Wayne's annual Leftfest activities will officially end "out in left field" for some dedicated festival goers, at the Fort Wayne TinCapsevening game.

While lefties make up about 10 percent of the world's population, 22 percent of Major League Baseball pitchers are southpaws, and in the low levels of the minor leagues, a quarter of the entire TinCaps pitching staff is left handed.

Eager to gather hew own stats, WBOI's Julia Meek met with lefty TinCaps pitcher Taylor Cox, by phone, to discuss why his "handedness" is in such demand on the diamond, and how it ranks outside the ball park.
