Sweetwater All Stars' New CD Gets Down In The R&B Groove

Front woman, Kat Bowser feels that classic r&b has an innate groove to it that is fun, and makes people smile.

The Sweetwater All Stars is a high energy, nine piece rhythm and blues band made up mostly of Sweetwateremployees--and its owner, Chuck Surack.

Acording to Surack, the Sweetwater Company itself is a great resource for talented performers, a "who's who" of musicians and music professionals from all over the country.

Its roster includes Chuck, Kat Bowser, Bob Bailey, Nick D'Virgilio, Don Carr, Phil Naish, Jeff Gastineau, Dave Martin, Mark Hornsby, Brett Kelsey, John Hinchey and Marcus Farr.

Being able to do a cd with great friends, and such remarkable talent, according to Surack, is a great project, one that they know their fans will love.

Eager to share its passion for the genre, the band's first cd, a self-titled collection of classic covers, will be out on Friday, with a release party scheduled for Saturday, February 10th, at C2G Music Hall.

Earlier this week, WBOI's Julia Meek invited Surack, and the band's front woman, Kat Bowser, into the studio to discuss how the group came together, and what drives its passion for the genre, as well as the vibe of the album itself.
