Annual NEIKC Show Going To The Dogs

Greg Wessel and Debbie Ward, with their own canine companions, attribute the continued success of NEIKC's annual shows to the dedicated volunteerism of its members.

The Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club officially formed in 1932, after conducting dog shows since 1920.

By now the showing has grown to an annual five day event called the Old Fort Cluster Shows, with entries numbering well over 5,000 and each day's competition sees about 150 different dog breeds from all over the country.

Earlier this week, WBOI's Julia Meek talked with club president, Debbie Ward, and Greg Wessel, a member and professional handler, to learn the fine points of this canine competition, and the appeal of the sport to dog owners, and dog lovers alike.
