Manchester University Celebrates 200th Anniversary of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Manchester University has been celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein, this semester, including participation in a state-wide read, a discussion of the story's ongoing significance, and coming up in November, a showing of Kenneth Branagh's 1994 film, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

The panel discussion in progress, consisting of Dr. Katharine Ings, representing Literature & Gender Studies, Dr. Seth Mayer, Philosophy, and Dr. Christer Watson, Physics.

For insight on how the study of this classic novel took shape and is developing, WBOI's Julia Meek decided to meet with professors Katharine Ings, and Christer Watson to learn how they became involved in the project, what path their journey has taken, and what they have managed to cover, or uncover, along its way.
