The many faces of local food.

The Northeast Indiana Local Food Network is celebrating local food culture and entrepreneurship in our region with its first-ever Local Food Week which begins on September 11th.

The Network comprises an eleven county initiative: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Nobel, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.

The Network's Online Local Food Guide provides a bountiful harvest of tasty information.

And this celebration of the local food from "Our Land to our Tables" is being hosted by nearly twenty different farms, markets and restaurants across our region.

Each tour, event or dining experience is unique and is designed to fit the current COVID-19 social-distancing guidelines.

For a taste of what's in store, WBOI's Julia Meek invited its Founding Director, Janet Katz, and participating urban farmer Marissa Renz into the studio to discuss the importance of eating local, what's available here in Northeast Indiana and the impact these connections make on our community.
