State Auditor Tera Klutz Launches 2018 Campaign

State Auditor Tera Klutz launched her reelection campaign at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne on Wednesday afternoon.

Klutz began serving as State Auditor in January, after her predecessor Suzanne Crouch became Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor. Klutz is the first certified public accountant, or CPA, to serve as State Auditor.

The Holcomb appointee says one of her primary areas of focus as State Auditor is to provide government services more efficiently.

“Right now we spend probably more than double the amount of labor to process payroll, because our payroll system is 20 years old," said Klutz. "Those people are not in my office and spread across state agencies, so we want to streamline that process.”

A Fort Wayne native, Klutz says she was thrilled to launch her campaign at “home.”

“I was born just south of downtown, right by Zesto’s, Broadway and Taylor, went to Elmhurst High School," she said. "So it’s an honor to launch my campaign in my hometown.”

Klutz served one full term as Allen County Auditor, and was serving her second upon her appointment in January.
