Allen County Loses Another Resident To COVID-19, Opens New Testing Sites

Two new COVID-19 testing sites are opening up in Allen County, beginning Oct. 1. 

And one more Allen County resident has died from the illness, bringing the total number of fatalities to 201. A total of 6,376 residents have tested positive for the virus.

There have been 761 more Hoosiers infected with COVID-19, and 20 more have died.

In northeast Indiana, those cases include a dozen in Kosciusko County, six more in Steuben County, and five more in both Noble and Whitley counties, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

 

Allen County's new testing sites will be open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sites are closed on Fridays and Sundays.

 

The central site opens on Thursday, and is located at 3003 Lake Avenue. The north site opens on Monday, and is located at 1230 Ruston Pass.

 

According to officials, appointments can be made any time at https://scheduling.coronavirus.in.govor by calling (260) 449-3303 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to the expected volume, the Department is asking individuals to utilize the online registration if possible. An invitation code is prompted on the site but not required, and individuals should click the “I don’t have an Invitation Code” button to proceed with scheduling.

 

Facial coverings are required for anyone 8 years old and older, and must completely cover the nose and the mouth.
