Seniors from various FWCS high schools came up on stage with their employers to sign their employment letters on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Career Academy in downtown Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne Community Schools featured a “signing ceremony” Tuesday at the Career Academy, celebrating seniors graduating with job offers from local industries on Tuesday.

The ceremony invited seniors from throughout the district who took classes at the Career Academy to sign their employment letters in front of family, staff and employers.

Snider senior Abigail Gray took classes in early childhood development and will be working with Good Shepherd Preschool after graduation. She said the signing ceremony felt good to be a part of.

“It gave us the opportunity to have the recognition for the jobs that we’re gonna be out in, and also just to get the recognition for the programs,” Gray said.

This year saw the largest ever group with more than 70 students participating. Industries students were joining included healthcare, construction and fire departments, among several others.

Students came to the stage with their employers to sign their letters together in a public format.
