Fort Wayne Community Schools to provide summer meals to community

Fort Wayne Community Schools’ summer meal program begins Monday at certain locations throughout the city.

The Summer Food Service Program for Children provides free meals to all youth ages 18 and younger, and adults enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.

The district is kicking off the program with a celebration at the Allen County Public Library, which hosts many of the meal sites, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday. The celebration will be held on the plaza of the main library branch downtown, with activities such as balloon art, face painting and chalk art.

The program begins June 6 and runs through July 29. Meals are served Monday through Friday with some exceptions on certain dates.
