Allen County comprehensive plan now in effect

The Allen County comprehensive plan, known as All In Allen County, went into effect Monday.

All In Allen County outlines plans for land use and development, agriculture and food systems, transportation, mobility, parks and other community services.

It has now been adopted by the towns of Grabill, Huntertown, Monreoville, and Woodburn.

They join the City of Fort Wayne and Allen County, which formally adopted the document in December.

The plan, which took input from 140 organizations and 3,300 people, does not set policy. It rather guides each municipality as they establish ordinances and plans.

Successful implementation of the plan will require coordinated efforts between city, town and county officials, partner organizations, stakeholders and residents, according to a release from the City of Fort Wayne’s office of community development.
