Cars line up at Kroger's drive-through COVID-19 tesing facility at Bishop Dwenger High School on May 1, 2020.

As Indiana begins to re-open following the weeks-long stay-at-home orders, Allen County residents now have better access to testing for COVID-19.

Kroger has partnered with the Allen County Department of Health to offer drive-through testing throughout the month of May and Neighborhood Health Clinics are offering testing at their Southeast office on East Paulding Road.

Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Deb McMahan says it’s important for residents to continue to be conscious as places begin to re-open.

“The virus did not go away in the last two months, the virus is still out there. This is an extraordinarily contagious virus. So, it’s really important that people adhere to those guidelines.”

Those guidelines include social distancing, handwashing and cloth face masks.

County health officials still recommend that people not seek out tests unless they are presenting symptoms.

Kroger's drive-through testing is available, by appointment, on May 7 and May 8 at Bishop Dwenger High School, 1300 E. Washington Center Road. For the rest of the month, it will be moving to Ivy Tech South Campus. For more information on those sites and how to make an appointment, visit Kroger Health's website.

Neighborhood Health Clinics are offering in person and video visits. Their Southeast Office at 3350 E. Paulding Road will be taking respatory and COVID-19 patients only and offering testing. For more information or to reach their triage phone number, visit Neighborhood Health's website.
