Annual Fall Festival in Fort Wayne Switches to Virtual-Only Race

FORT4FITNESS

The 13th annual Fort4Fitness Fall Festival will be entirely virtual this year due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. The organization announced the change on their website last week.

Anyone who was already signed up for the event will be automatically switched over to virtual and receive a credit for the 2021 Fall Festival.

Executive Director Satin Lemon says the decision was a tough one to make, but they’re working to make the virtual run a fulfilling experience.

“But we’re still trying to do some things to keep people interested, keep people motivated. You know, we were really looking forward to the in-person event as well, that’s what we plan for all year. So, we’re disappointed, but we’ve had a good response which is positive."

Fort4Fitness already offered a virtual version of the event for those who preferred the option. The virtual race allows participants to sign up for their preferred distance and run it in a location of their choice.

Participants can still receive their t-shirts and medals by curbside pick up at Parkview Field or through the mail. To find more information about pick up times, visit the Fort4Fitness Virtual Fall Festival page.

Lemon says she hopes people will still post pictures of their races and have a good time, even if they can’t be all together this year.
