Courtesy/Arts United
A few of the artcentric perspectives presented and enjoyed during the past year.

The Fort Wayne arts scene saw a lot of activity in 2020, despite COVID restrictions.

The year's events have been wildly unprecedented, but the city is determined to live up to this year's Arts United theme, Arts Unite Us, and is understandably proud of its motto, "Arts United We Stand."

For a look back at the year's hightlights, WBOI's Julia Meek contacted Arts United's president, Susan Mendenhall, by Zoom to discuss some of those achivements, what lies ahead for our area and the deep motivation behind the organization's current theme, "Art Unites Us."

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
