Celebrating Nigerian Culture In Night Of Culinary Diplomacy

Roanoke's Joseph Decuis chef's are working with Nkonye's recipes to offer a fusion of African flavors.

In a little less than two weeks, Roanoke's Joseph Decuis restaurant is partnering with Nigerian food connoisseur, Nkonye Mwalilu and the Nigerian Association of Fort Wayne for a charitable event celebrating Nigerian cuisine and culture.

The Association's mission is to promote programs that reflect the aspirations of the Nigerian community, while drawing them closer to their heritage.

This dinner is the first presentation in the Joseph Decuis Culinary Diplomacy series, which is aimed at "bringing the world together through food."

To learn what's in store that evening, WBOI's Julia Meek invited Nkonye into the studio to discuss the organization, the venue, and the passions driving this partnership.
