Father's Day is coming up this Sunday, and one Fort Wayne dad, John Kaufeld, shares advice on the fine art of fatherhood through speaking engagements, seminars, and his twice-monthly column in the News Sentinel, called "The Dad Game."

Don't let the column's name fool you. The advice is meant for dads and moms alike, and grandparents, too, with a strong focus on how to achieve the best possible family relationships, while building shared memories for the future.

To Kaufeld, the secret to this is all in the game--board game, to be specific--and WBOI's Julia Meek invited him into the studio to discuss how "playing around" in this manner helps to win connection and communication with your kids.

Kaufeld's articles appear twice-monthly in the Fort Wayne News Sentinel. Click here for  a listing of past columns.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
