Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are at their lowest levels since the beginning of the pandemic, with only 22 individuals hospitalized in northeast Indiana.

The lowest level previously attained was 29 patients this past March.

Statewide, there are 391 individuals currently hospitalized with COVID, below the mark of 540 in mid-March, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

No new deaths were reported in northeast Indiana, though Allen County reported two additional deaths earlier this week. That brings Allen County’s total to 693.

The state’s 7-day positivity rate is 2.2 percent, and regionally it is down to 1.9 percent.

Parkview Health is moving its vaccination clinic from the Mirro Center on June 28 to Building C on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus, 3718 New Vision Drive.

LaGrange County’s vaccination rate has stalled at 22.6 percent, having remained there for much of the past week. It is the lowest vaccination rate in Indiana.

Allen and Huntington counties have the area’s highest vaccination totals, with 46.9 and 45.6 percent respectively.
