Noble County Reports Second Long-Term Care Facility With Coronavirus

Update at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15: An additional 25 Allen County residents have tested positive for the virus and one more individual has died. The totals are now 196 positive cases and 18 deaths.

On Tuesday, Noble County reported its second COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care facility. 

Tuesday afternoon, Noble County Health Officer Dr. Terry Gaff announced multiple cases of COVID-19 at the Lutheran Life Villages’ Village at Kendallville. The number of cases found at the facility was not released.

Earlier this month, a fatal case of the disease caused by the coronavirus was reported at the Sacred Heart long-term care facility in Avilla.

In Allen County, the numbers of those sickened by the coronavirus in Allen County continues to climb, as does the number of those who have died.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 171 Allen County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, and 17 individuals have died. 

At the beginning of April, around 50 people had tested positive for the disease. 

Elsewhere in northeast Indiana, Noble County jumped to 17 cases, Whitley County has 14, and Kosciusko County has 19.

Statewide, the reported number of positive cases of the virus declined this week. However, the number of test results reported to the state declined as well.
