Raising A Glass To Local Spirits

Three Rivers Distilling Company, located on the south edge of downtown, in a historic warehouse building at the corner of Clinton and Wallace Streets, is the 1st craft distillery to open in northeast Indiana since prohibition.

Since unlocking its doors in 2016, the distillery has been producing a variety of spirits with locally inspired names, like Three Rivers Wheated Bourbon, Summit City Gin and River City Rum.

A new tasting room, opened in February, welcomes guests with a full bar, large dining space and even bigger and more inviting outdoor patio area.

Tours of its distillery are offered as well, allowing visitors to get a look at the heart of the distilling process up close, and see how their favorite spirits are made before they enjoy tasting them:

Last week WBOI's Julia Meek sat down with the company's president, Marla Schneider and master distiller, Patrick Tanesky to learn the story behind the operation, its "buy local" practices, and the economic impact it has had on the community.

You can find more information, and a full calendar of events at the Three Rivers Distilling Company website.
