Riverfront Fort Wayne Grand Opening Delayed Until August

Riverfront Fort Wayne

Construction of Fort Wayne’s Promenade Park has had to stop at various points in the spring due to inclement weather, and its grand opening opening will be delayed.

The planned festivities will now take place the weekend of August 9-11.

According to the City of Fort Wayne, the wet conditions this spring have caused construction delays to the following:

  • Parkview Tree Canopy Trail
  • PNC Playground
  • Little Creek Bioswale
  • Rotary Fountain
  • Betsy Chapman Family Gardens
  • The Journal Gazette Foundation Dining Gardens
  • Ambassador Enterprises Amphitheatre

That isn’t to say the entire project is off schedule; the following projects are currently on schedule and expected to be completed on time:

  • Old National Bank Plaza
  • Park Foundation Pavilion
  • Auer Lawn
  • Convergence Sculpture
  • Sweetwater Bandshell
  • Entry Plaza

The original grand opening was scheduled for June 21-23.
