Ten new COVID-19 deaths were reported in northeast Indiana on Wednesday, with six in Allen County.
According to the Indiana Department of Health, there were 503 new cases of the disease reported in the area, and the 7-day positivity rate stands at 10.9 percent.
The highly-contagious Delta variant makes up more than 97 percent of all the diagnosed cases of COVID in Indiana, where the 7-day positivity rate stands at 11 percent.
Two deaths were reported in Adams County, and single deaths reported in Huntington and Whitley counties.
There were 5,784 Hoosiers joined the ranks of the fully-vaccinated as reported Wednesday.
Northeast Indiana totals:
- Adams County: 15 new cases for 4,440 total. 2 new deaths for 68 total. 7-day positivity rates at 6.9%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 38.1%.
- Allen County: 217 new cases for 53,609 total. 6 new deaths for 758 total. 7-day positivity rates at 10.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 56.1%.
- DeKalb County: 35 new cases for 5,742 total. No new deaths for 91 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.8%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 43.1%.
- Huntington County: 28 new cases for 5,742 total. 1 new death for 95 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.8%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 47.7%.
- Kosciusko County: 73 new cases for 11,418 total. No new deaths for 135 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.9%.
- LaGrange County: 16 new cases for 3,213 total. No new deaths for 25 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.4%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 25.3%.
- Noble County: 35 new cases for 7,413 total. No new deaths for 101 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.7%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 41.7%.
- Steuben County: 22 new cases for 4,972 total. No new deaths for 68 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.5%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 46.9%.
- Wabash County: 20 new cases for 4,835 total. No new deaths for 92 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.1%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.1%.
- Wells County: 19 new cases for 3,849 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 44%.
- Whitley County: 23 new cases for 5,249 total. 1 new death for 53 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.1%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 46.4%.
