Thousands of New COVID-19 Cases Over Weekend, Few Deaths Reported

The Indiana State Department of Health reported 755 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, after more than 2,000 cases reported Friday and Saturday.

On Monday, from Sunday, 24 of those cases were reported in Allen County, with an additional seven in both Kosciusko and DeKalb counties, and five more in Steuben County. 

Only two deaths were reported Monday statewide, with a total of 3,215 deaths from the disease in the Hoosier state.

The state’s daily positive rate is at 7 percent, according to state officials.

 

Statewide, there were six new deaths reported Friday and Saturday.

Around northeast Indiana, 16 total new cases were reported in Kosciusko County for Friday and Saturday, 13 new cases were reported in Steuben County, 12 in DeKalb County, and 11 in Huntington County.

No new deaths were reported in northeast Indiana Friday and Saturday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
