Nine more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Allen County, bringing the total for April 13 to 165. Two more individuals have died.

More than 8,300 Hoosiers have tested positive for the disease, caused by the novel coronavirus. Three-hundred and 50 have died.

The Fort Wayne Police Department announced Monday that an officer had fallen ill with the virus in March. He self-quarantined, and later tested positive for the virus.

He returned to duty Monday, after having been symptom-free for the medically-recommended period of time. No other officers have become ill with the virus, according to the police department.

The Indiana Department of Health’s coronavirus dashboard now shows the percentage of the state’s intensive care beds and ventilators that are being used to treat the disease.

So far, Indiana’s hospitals have 44 percent of its ICU beds available, and 73 percent of their ventilators.

The number of positive tests for the virus have increased in a number of northeast Indiana counties.
