Betty Fishman has been a prominent figure on Fort Wayne's arts scene since the 1950's--as artist and educator, as well as gallery director, advocate and collector.
Through October, the University of Saint Francis is celebrating Fishman and her artistic legacy with an exhibition of her private collection in its Lupke Gallery, and hosting a reception for the public this Thursday.
Several works from her personal collection will also be displayed publicly for the first time and will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the Rick and Louis Cartwright Scholarship Fund.
To gain insight on the exhibit, and the artist herself, WBOI's Julia Meek sat down with USF's gallery director, Justin Johnson to discuss Betty's many contributions to the city's cultural skyline.
