Towles New Tech Podcast Project
89.1 WBOI teams up with Towles New Tech Middle School each year to give Tia McFarthing's seventh grade students a platform for creativity and storytelling to exhibit their social studies and language arts education. Using the new information they learned about Hinduism, Buddhism, literary elements and narrative writing, students create stories inspired by the Eightfold path and the Jataka Tales, which are the tales of how Buddha became enlightened.
The students use the creative process to practice reading and revising their projects, ultimately competing among themselves for who will be able to come to the WBOI studios and record their stories. Here are the top stories.
