The Allen County Public Library is partnering with Super Shot to offer flu and COVID-19 immunizations to families.

For the next three Friday afternoons, certain library branches will have immunization options available for anyone for no charge. The first 50 people at each event will also receive a $10 Kroger gift card.

Connie Heflin is the executive director of Super Shot. She says the idea to partner with the library came from the executive director of the ACPL.

Libraries across the country have had to close their doors in response to COVID-19, cutting off in-person programming and services that communities may rely on. Libraries in northeast Indiana are working hard to figure out the best ways to continue to serve people and offer resources directly to their homes.

To parents or children, the sound of a library storytime might be familiar. It’s an opportunity for children to sit together and engage in a story while a librarian reads aloud to them.

Although the entire Allen County Public Library system is closed during the Coronavirus pandemic, its Access Fort Wayne division has plenty of work to do as it continues to keep area residents informed and entertained.
