This week, we're bringing you a series of panel discussions focused on education in Indiana, and how politics plays into how education is delivered to Hoosiers.

The panels were organized and conducted by Director Emeritus of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics Andy Downs for the Education Committee of the Allen County Bar Foundation, and recorded over Zoom at the WBOI Studios.

You will hear three panels during this program:

  • "What is education?" with Purdue University Fort Wayne Dean of Education Isabel Nuñez.
  • "How is education funded in Indiana?" with Fort Wayne Community Schools chief financial officer Kathy Friend.
  • "How is education delivered in Indiana?" with Dr. Jamie Garwood of Garwood Consulting, and Franks School of Education at Trine University assistant professor Phil Downs.

WBOI Content Director Zach Bernard is the executive producer of this show, and facilitated the Zoom recordings.

Production assistant Brittany Smith played a big role in turning these conversations around quickly for air.
