Governor Mike Pence says Indiana is talking to Boeing about building its new 7-77-x airplane in
the Hoosier State. The move could create thousands of jobs.
Boeing is considering proposals from 22 states to locate facilities to build its new 777x aircraft after labor negotiations in the Seattle area fell through. Governor Mike Pence says Indiana has been in discussions with Boeing, though he wouldn’t comment further on how the discussions are progressing.
“I will tell you – every opportunity that we are given to tell Indiana’s story, to make the case for Indiana, we do,” Pence said.
Indiana Economic Development Corporation spokesperson Katelyn Hancock says the IEDC doesn’t comment on negotiations but adds that the agency works with companies like Boeing every day to help them learn how Indiana fits into their long term plans.
The $10 billion Boeing facility could create more than 8,000 jobs over the next ten years.
