With all precincts reported from Indiana’s primary on Tuesday, several races for the November General Election ballot are now firmly in place.

Republicans saw victories for Roy Buskirk, Bob Armstrong and newcomer Eric Tippmann for Allen County Council at Large seats Tuesday night.

Armstrong ran for his third term on Council. He says he doesn’t know much about his Democratic counterparts, but will stick to what he knows when campaigning.

“It’ll be interesting to see how they campaign and what they bring to the table and we’ll just deal with them," said Armstrong. "But I’ll stick to my standard of representing taxpayers and that’s what I’m going to do.”

Allen County GOP chairman Steve Shine says he is confident in the Republican candidates’ chances in the general election.

“The chances for a Republican landslide in Allen County were increased tonight dramatically,” Shine said.

That isn’t changing the mindset of the Democrats, who saw wins for Morrison Agen, David Roach and Pal Galindo for Council at Large. Agen says now is when the work truly begins.

“We plan on doing a lot of door-banging and phone banking, you know?" Agen said. "To help get the word out, and we’ll be working with other party members and other candidates to continue to help do that.”*

Until the General Election on November 8, Buskirk and Armstrong will continue to serve on the Council at Large with Bill Brown.
