Fort Wayne City Council passes mayor's budget

Fort Wayne City Council approved Mayor Tom Henry's proposed budget for 2023 during its meeting Tuesday night.

A largely uncontroversial debate this time around, the budget promises more money for infrastructure as well as police, fire and parks.

Tuesday's meeting wasn't entirely without drama, however.

Council president and 4th District Republican Jason Arp proposed slashing Henry's operating budget until video from his October 8 OWI accident was made available to the public.

But the video cannot be released until after the sentencing, which isn't until the second week of November.

Arp's proposal failed 8-1, with his own "yes" vote being the only one in favor.
