Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry is now officially running for an historic fifth term as the city’s chief executive.

Henry filed his candidacy with the Allen County Election Board today (Monday), making him the fourth mayoral candidate to do so.

Henry joins Republicans Tom Didier and Jason Arp as well as Democrat Jorge Fernandez, who filed on Jan. 5.

Henry is the longest serving mayor in Fort Wayne’s history, holding the office since 2008. He was elected after five terms on the Fort Wayne City Council.

Henry will face Fernandez in the May primary before facing the Republican nominee, either Arp or Didier, in the November general election. The primary is May 2.
