Fort Wayne filmmaker Kelly Lynch has focused on the mid 20th century decline of the railroad industry to produce a screenplay for a limited television series called The Century Builders.

Headwaters Junction, Inc. has announced the start of development efforts on 1010 Cass Street, complimenting Promenade Park in downtown Fort Wayne.

 

Headwaters Junction is a non-profit dedicated to “establishing a regional railroad attraction” along Fort Wayne’s riverfront. The project has been in the works since SWA Group recommended it during initial riverfront discussions in 2015, according to a release issued Wednesday..

The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society paired with the Chicago Metra to bring 3,000 guests aboard a 1940s steam locomotive excursion this past weekend.

 

Fort Wayne’s steam locomotive no. 765 leads a round-trip excursion from Joliet to Chicago. Passengers attend a private vintage themed event in downtown Chicago. Here, guests were encouraged to wear 1940s attire while they enjoy cocktails, appetizers and live entertainment.
