Coronavirus positivity rates climbed again Thursday throughout most northeast Indiana counties as the first week following Thanksgiving came to an end.
According to the Indiana State Department of Health, only Kosciusko County saw its 7-day positivity rate decline from Wednesday to Thursday, going from 11.3 percent to 10.4 percent.
Everywhere else, the rates climbed, particularly in Whitley County which saw a three-point jump from 18 percent to 21.2 percent.
Allen County reported six new deaths from COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus. The county also recorded 416 new positive tests, according to the Allen County Department of Health.
Northeast Indiana’s COVID-19 infections are fairly evenly spread out among all age groups from 20 to 59.
- Adams County: 53 new cases for 1,927 total. No new deaths for 24 total. 7-day positivity rate 8.7%.
- Allen County: 416 new cases for 20,650 total. Six new deaths for 343 total. 7-day positivity rate 17.2%.
- DeKalb County: 66 new cases for 2,142 total. No new deaths for 37 total. 7-day positivity rate 17%.
- Huntington County: 72 new cases for 1,533 total. No new deaths for 11 total. 7-day positivity rate 10.9%.
- Kosciusko County: 110 new cases for 5,129 total. Two new deaths for 48 total. 7-day positivity rate 10.4%.
- LaGrange County: 24 new cases for 1,595 total. One new deaths for 34 total. 7-day positivity rate 18.3%.
- Noble County: 83 new cases for 2,924 total. No new deaths for 50 total. 7-day positivity rate 12.2%.
- Steuben County: 60 new cases for 1,686 total. No new deaths for 16 total. 7-day positivity rate 13.4%.
- Wabash County: 46 new cases for 1,952 total. One new death for 24 total. 7-day positivity rate 16.2%.
- Wells County: 21 new cases for 1,450 total. Two new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positiity rate 15.3%.
- Whitley County: 58 new cases for 1,624 total. One new death for 17 total. 7-day positivity rate 21.2%.
