Ten new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in northeast Indiana on Tuesday, along with 199 new cases.

The area’s 7-day positivity rate has gone back up, to 10.6 percent, but the number of tests administered has dropped consistently since late September.

Three deaths were reported in Allen County, two deaths in Adams, DeKalb and Wabash counties, and one death in Wells County, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

There are 170 area residents hospitalized with the virus.

Indiana shares a common trend across many states as first-time vaccination rates remain stalled.

There were only 3,315 new fully-vaccinated Hoosiers on Tuesday, but nearly 7,000 Indiana residents received their COVID booster shots.

LaGrange County remains at 26 percent of the eligible population fully vaccinated, and Allen County is approaching 58 percent.

The highly-contagious Delta variant now accounts for 99.6 percent of the new cases throughout Indiana.
