Thanks to the public art program, Art This Way, Fort Wayne's outdoor mural population is blossoming.

And a week from today, the conept is being celebrated with a downtown Art Crawl to raise funds for next year's mural projects.

With the sponsorhip help of Design Collaborative, this year's Art Crawl will offer participants five non-traditional gallery spaces to enjoy in the organization's targeted mural zone, each one affording a unique chance to experience artists at work, while enjoying a variety of music, appetizers and a cash bar.

The organization's current focus includes alleyways within a two-block area of downtown.

The route of the crawl itself, which can be enjoyed in any order, encourages stops to admire last year's inaugural set of commissioned murals that line the course.

Earlier this week, WBOI's Julia Meek met with the program's organizer, Alex Hall, to learn what exciting directions Art This Way is heading.
