Arts United named a new CEO Thursday.
Julie Hill will succeed Dan Ross, who is retiring early next month. She starts in the role Sept. 21.
According to a press release, Hill is a music educator, performer, scholar and non-profit leader.
Most recently, she served as the president and CEO of Global Citizen Adventure, an organization she cofounded in Tennessee.
She holds a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Kentucky and serves as the principal percussionist with the Paducah Symphony.
According to the release, Hill has spoken around the world, with a research focus on social mobility through music.
She said what drew her to the job is “a community that doesn't just value the arts—it invests in them as an engine for workforce retention, economic development, and civic life.”
