State Health Department Reports 5th Vaping Related Death In Indiana

WFIU/WT

The Indiana Department of Health confirmed Thursday a fifth person has died from a vaping-related lung injury. That brings the total number of confirmed cases of lung injury linked to vaping to 56.

Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 52 deaths in 26 states. Ages of the deceased range from 17 to 75.

The CDC recommends people not use vaping products that contain THC. It also says vitamin E acetate has been associated with lung injuries. The agency continues to investigate other causes.
