TinCaps and Fort Wayne Partner For National Program

public domain

Fort Wayne is partnering with the TinCaps as part of a national initiative called Play Ball. The program is designed to get people to participate in baseball and related activities.

The city and baseball team have partnered to provide programs and events during the 2016 baseball season as part of the Play Ball initiative.

The city hopes it will complement the community wellness program, Operation Fight for a Fitter Fort.

Mayor Tom Henry’s spokesman, John Perlich, says Play Ball will give people the opportunity to be healthy and have fun.

“We really thought this would be a neat activity for Fort Wayne to be part of, based on how well our community has received the TinCaps and our commitment to quality of life and exercise in the city of Fort Wayne,” Perlich said.

Play Ball is a national partnership between Major and Minor League Baseball and the United States Conference of Mayors. It encourages people to play games like baseball, kickball and wiffleball.
