TinCaps Prepare For 2018 Season

Zach Bernard/WBOI News

The San Diego Padres announced rosters for all of its minor league affiliates Sunday, including the 25-man roster of the Fort Wayne TinCaps.

The TinCaps will bring 14 new players into the fold with 11 returning from last year’s squad, which went 68-72 on the season.

Manager Anthony Contreras is entering his third year leading the club. He says it will take awhile for the offense to hit for power, but there are things to be excited about early on.

“I think speed is more our game to start off with, and then pitching is probably our strongest point, and our rotation looks really good and the bullpen has been here before and has some experience under their belt, so we’re looking to those guys to support everybody else.”

The TinCaps will open their season on the road at Lake County on Thursday. Their first home game will also be against Lake County Saturday, April 7.
