City officials are asking for public input on ways to combat homelessness within the city.

Fort Wayne residents are being asked to offer input on the draft of a plan that would provide $4 million in federal funding to combat homelessness.

The city’s Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services is requesting resident feedback on what’s being called the DRAFT Allocation Plan, which will disburse the money that was awarded to Fort Wayne through the HOME Investment Partnerships American Rescue Plan Program, or HOME-ARP.

The details of the proposal can currently be found on the city’s website.

The city says feedback from residents “helps ensure that the City of Fort Wayne is able to target limited resources to where they will have the most impact.”

A virtual public hearing will be held over Zoom next Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 3 to 5 pm. Registration to attend is required and can be done online.

A survey seeking public comment will also be available on the city’s website from now until Thursday, March 3.
