WBOI's Folktale of Unity

Sept 18th & 22nd: Folktale of Unity

“The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens” That's the vision of Bahá'u'lláh, founder of the Baha'i faith, and the gateway to our travels this week on Folktales. We’re spanning the musical globe as we gather a mountain of communal spirit, solidarity and harmonious accord across the Americas, through Europe, and on into Australia, Africa, and the Near East, with short stops in the Pacific, and Caribbean islands.

Our musical features come from Bob Dylan, The Chieftains & Ry Cooder, Brave Old World, Inkuyo, Ok! Ryos, Beethova Obas, Steven Cragg and more. It's a powerful Folktale you'll want to be a part of. As they say world 'round, there's no strength without unity.

WBOI's Folktale of Home Sweet Home

September 25th & 29th: Folktale of Home Sweet Home

"Home, the spot of earth supremely blest, A dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest." That's how Robert Montgomery Peace describes the homestead...and it's our 'welcome-in' for this week's homey folk tour.

We'll be traveling the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, with musical customs, and wise words on the topic of where you hang your hat and heart. Featured musicians include Teresa Doyle, Fred Rothert & Arvel Bird, Slavek Hanzlik, Te Vaka, Klezmorim, the Sowa Family Band, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and more. We hope you'll 'pull up a chair and set a spell', for this comfort collection of music.

This week's edition of Folktales, we're putting on a happy face to match our happy feet, as we go around the musical globe in search of music for that very joyful outfit!
