July is a patriotic month - Independence Day, fireworks, and parades. One holiday that used to fly under the radar was "Christmas In July". Rob Martinez, WBOI's resident holiday music expert, will broadcast a new all-request version of his usually-in-December show "The Nights Before Christmas" on Wednesday July 6th from 9 to 11 PM to mark the occasion.
"Our first all-request show last year was simply amazing" Martinez said. "I expected to get about 20 requests and I would fill out the rest of the show. We had people all over Northeast Indiana, the United States, even Canada and Sweden with their requests. I was able to squeeze all 37 songs into the show!"
“We’re really excited to have Christmas in July for a second year,” 89.1 WBOI Program Director Katy Anderson said. “It’s a really fun way to interact with our listeners and spread some cheer!”
Once again, you pick the music Rob will play on the show. "I hope we can match our total from last year," Martinez added. "Here's hoping your favorite holiday song will be one!"
