Wednesday was the last day of COVID-19 vaccinations at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum.
The site originally was open from January 2021 until June, when it closed after administering more than 40,000 shots.
Allen County Health Department officials reopened the site in October, and with its closure will continue to administer the vaccinations at the Allen County Health Department Annex.
There were 462 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Allen County on Wednesday, and the total of lives lost in the county due to the virus now stands at 955, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
However, Allen County has now improved to the state’s orange, or second-worst category for community spread of the virus.
Other counties in northeast Indiana have also improved from the “red” or worst category, including LaGrange, Noble, Adams, Wells, and Huntington.
The area’s 7-day positivity rate stands at 13.7 percent, and there is 12 percent of the ICU capacity remaining.
LaGrange County’s vaccination rate has inched upward to 23.5 percent, still the state’s worst for vaccine compliance.
Statewide, the 7-day positivity rate is at 14.3 percent, and ICU capacity is down to 9.2 percent.
Northeast Indiana totals for Dec. 29:
- Adams County: 22 new cases for 5,882 total. No new deaths for 92 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.7%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 35.6%.
- Allen County: 462 new cases for 74, 369 total. 1 new death for 955 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.7%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 54.6%.
- DeKalb County: 29 new cases for 8,782 total. No new deaths for 122 total. 7-day positivity rate at 18.5%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.4%.
- Huntington County: 61 new cases for 8,537 total. No new deaths for 123 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 46.4%.
- Kosciusko County: 81 new cases for 15,758 total. 1 new death for 179 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.2%.
- LaGrange County: 14 new cases for 4,669 total. No new deaths for 93 total. 7-day positivity rate at 21.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 23.5%.
- Noble County: 43 new cases for 10,162 total. No new deaths for 136 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.9%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 40.8%.
- Steuben County: 26 new cases for 7,404 total. 2 new deaths for 96 total. 7-day positivity rate at 18.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 46%.
- Wabash County: 22 new cases for 6,824 total. 1 new death for 129 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.8%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 41.8%.
- Wells County: 19 new cases for 5,289 total. No new deaths for 117 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.4%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.7%.
- Whitley County: 28 new cases for 7,310 total. No new deaths for 67 total. 7-day positivity rate at 18%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 45.5%.
