Author Michael Martone Finds the Humor In Hoosier Life

Though author and Fort Wayne native Michael Martone has been a professor at the University of Alabama's Creative Writing department since 1996, his Hoosier roots run deep.

He has more than a dozen books to his credit and is this year's recipient of the prestigious National Author's Award from the Eugene & Marilyn Glick Foundation.

While in town this month for some of the festivities, he joined WBOI's Julia Meek to talk about his Indiana ties, his process and how the Hoosier State informs his writing.
