WBOI Host Puts "Tossed Jazz Salad" On The Weekly Menu

Andy Laverghetta
Bob Mayer, host of WBOI's "Tossed Jazz Salad," loves the genre, and has been serving up an eclectic weekly mix of it for the past 6 years.

WBOI's "Tossed Jazz Salad" is a tasty mixture of that genre's styles and forms, served up every Tuesday evening by volunteer host, Bob Mayer.

Mayer's teaching and performing background adds extra spice to the experience, and WBOI's Julia Meek, as part of her ongoing "Behind the Mic" series, invited him into the studio earlier this week, to discuss how his musical passions have helped him perfect this secret recipe.

WBOI's Tossed Jazz Salad
Hosted by Bob Mayer
Tuesdays, 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Arts reporter Julia Meek will continue to look "Behind the Mic" at one of 89.1 WBOI and Classical 94.1 WBNI's show hosts each month, so listen for more of these interviews throughout the year.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
