Whimsical New Kids' Book A Hit With All Ages

You may not remember this far back, but transitioning from crib to a "big kid bed" can be a scary proposition, so Hamilton, Indiana author, Jessie Strock and Fort Wayne artist, Alex Hall have combined forces to publish a brand new children's book on that topic called The Zookeeper.

Strock sights her own grandchildren's experiences as inspiration for the story line, and admits that she sought Hall to work with her because she knew Alex's creative style of animal illustration would provide the perfect accent for the telling of it.

Last week WBOI's Julia Meek sat down with the pair to talk about the story's practical purpose as well as intentional whimsy and the pleasure this collaboration has afforded them.
